This page is still a work in progress, I am waiting for the next glass of🍷delivery to continue my creativeness 🤣

or I am too busy shooting weddings…You pick whichever version you want to believe ;)

Wedding Preparation

Wedding preparation is a huge aspect of your big day.
If you prepare for the worst, nothing will knock you down on the day.

Preparation and communication and are my biggest concentration and where most of my effort goes into ensuring that I deliver what the customer expects.

During the couple wedding preparation meeting, I write down notes on how the couple want their day to go, we review their expectations from me and my expectations of them. We want to remove the word assume from the dictionary to ensure that everybody is happy at the end of the day and get exactly what they want.

I usually create a list of important people, contact numbers, locations, and key people ahead of the wedding day so that we a clear laid out plan of what needs to be achieved. This helps me on the day to ensure all the required shots are captured at the right time without stressing anyone out.

You must remember that it takes time and preparation to achieve specific shots, not all couples wish to invest a large part of their day staging shots to look amazing on their Instagram but forget to interact with their family and friends on the day. You must decide what is most important for you.

Once we establish this, I can help you and direct you and help you get those specific shots as quick as possible so that you may get on with the rest of the day.

In the occasion that I have not visited the wedding venue before, I strive to head to the venue before the wedding day to scout for photo opportunity locations to ensure we’re not wasting time on the day looking for pleasant backdrops for couple photos. This is sometimes not possible due to distance, but if the area is in a reasonable location to my home, I will do my best to prepare in advance.

Bridal & Groom Preparations

On the morning of the wedding, if the church is not too far away, I would usually visit the church to get a few photos before the guests arrive, I would then proceed to house of the bride or groom.

Once on site I would start off with a few introductions and then quietly disappear into the background photographing a few wedding details as you get used to the notion of me being around and taking a few casual pictures as required.

Once most of make-up and hair is done, I would then be invited to start hanging out with the bridal party and start capturing a few images as the final few touches are put in place.

At this point, I will capture key family moments of getting dressed, make up & hair preparation and other family members arriving.

I will usually follow guidelines set in place by our wedding preparation meeting if I will push the bride or groom to achieve specific shots or will I just float around capturing images as the day evolves.

I am here to help on your day, I will do my best to ensure that the day goes as smooth as possible and to help you keep track of time as the day evolves.

Wedding Ceremony

I usually try to arrive at the church or the ceremony venue 30 minutes prior to the wedding to capture a few pictures of the groom and his grooms’ men getting ready for the bride to arrive. This also helps me scout for locations where the family photos will take place after the ceremony together with ensuring that all the equipment that I will need for the next hour as the ceremony takes place.

During the ceremony, my key focus will be to capture key shots of the ceremony but also pleasant and emotional shots of the couple and their wedding party.

Family Photos

This can get a little chaotic when you have a lot of cousins but need not, to worry. I will help you organise who will stand where and get the photos done as quickly as possible to ensure you can carry on with your wedding day and get the guests as quick as possible to their venue.

Photo Session

This is your own little private time and a chance to catch your breath and a bit of peace and silence.

We will head off to a private location to capture a few print worthy pictures of the newlywed couple.

This is usually everyone’s favorite time and it’s a moment of silence and peace.

I will grab a few photos of your in various location while you walk, chat and interact with each other.
