Landscape Photography at Dun Laoghaire

Lets give the portraits a little rest for now.

During the last storm in Dublin I drove out to Dun Laoghaire to get some smashing waves at Forty Foot swimming spot, unfortunately the high winds have stopped at this point so the water was fairly calm.

But as the sunset came closer, we got some slightly bigger waves that created these interesting, painterly and colorful wave lines in the photo.

Photo wasn’t exactly what I was lookin for, but I waited long enough for the right opportunity to present itself and for the right wave and was eventually rewards with this stunning shot of the Dublin Bay.

A lot of photographers I meet during my photography workshop expect to get the perfect shot in photo with little to no effort, and while that may work time to time, it certainly won’t give you a persistent success rate when it comes to getting awesome photos.

Suppose this proves the point that if you’re looking to take good photography, don’t give up after a few shots. Look for different angles, perspectives and wait for the right moment to get the right image. Most of all, have an idea in your head of what you wish to achieve by taking your camera out, this helps you immensely planning and achieving your shot.
