Linhof Technika Press 23 - Rare Vintage Rangefinder Camera

So I have been passed down with this Linhof Technika Press 23 camera as a gift from a departing friend. I have seen this camera in Frank's photo studio for a long time, he started collecting vintage camera's a year after I met him. To my surprise, as I was helping him pack his gear from the studio, he owned he offered the camera to me.

Unfortunately due to time constraints I have not had the time to learn how to use it and in the past few months its been sitting on my gear shelf collecting dust bunnies. Its funny how we have become so used to digital photography and being able to review pictures as they are shot, that its mind boggling that a cameras of the past were limited to a few exposures.

A few exposures that which were missing critical! You had to know what you were doing and use your light meter extensively to make sure you are getting a correctly exposed image. These days I would shoot for a flat looking image to make sure I have the maximum dynamic range and best details, I can image how stressful it could have been back in the days to take an image of something really important and hope that the image develops correctly.

Either way, as I am gearing up to selling this camera, I have decided to give some basic product photography a go. So here's two pictures I put together over a quick session the other day.

Check them out and let me know what you think in the comments.
