Viewmount House Prep for Wedding Photos

A few weeks ago, I had a great opportunity to capture memories on the beautiful grounds of the Viewmount house.

As it is on my doorstep, it was no brainer to go check it out a few days before the wedding. The wedding couple supplied details of John and Beryl who are the current owners of the fine establishment. A quick phone call and they were more than inviting for me to come and check it out.

Reception Area to Viewmount House

While I had a chance to dine in their award winning restaurant many years ago, I’ve never seen their beautiful Japanese and contemporary gardens. Tucked away on a quiet country road, on the edge of Longford Town, it sits on a large site secluded and away from the busy town, the only neighbours you’ll see while staying here is the occasional golfer on the Longford Golf Course.

Main Indoor Reception Area. On a wedding day, this is where all your guests will first settle in.

I was blessed to visit the wedding venue on a gorgeous summer evening. The evening sun lit up all the plants, flowers, trees and structures with gorgeous colours and contrast.

There was no shortage of beautiful backdrops for portrait and family photos. You would have to be suffering a serious case of creative block not to be able deliver amazing photos for the couple & family.

Even on a rainy day, you should be able to find shelter under tree’s, buildings or even the large plants.

A small little bridge over the pond in the Japanese garden. Another great focal point where the bridge & the surrounding tree’s can frame your couple portrait to attract the viewing and provide some focal points.

Japanese Style House

A perfect shot of a couple sits right by the front door of the house. While the front of the house, doesn’t add much appeal to the photo, finding some natural framing and colours by the surrounding plants helps to draw you into the centre of the image, where the bridge and groom will be.

Green Area at the back of the Garden

Just be careful walking through all of these area’s, as they are not paved, your dress might decide to collect some memories from this garden and bring them home with you.

Sculptured Mini Garden

A Euphoria of Colours

Great location for portrait photos where the couple can just relax and enjoy the smells and colours of this little area.

Watch Tower Bridge

Unfortunately, I don’t think this area is accessible, but if the owners allow, it would be a great focal point to get your bridge and groom onto.

Floral Archway

Yet another beautiful frame for portrait or even small family photos.

Peek-a-boo

A little window of the hedge, pointing directly at a sculpture in the gardens. Focus on the couple and you get some beautifully framed wedding photos.

Relaxation

An Antique bench for the couple to sit down and relax for a few moment while enjoying the gardens.

Sheltered Area

If all rain gets loose, probably one three possible locations where you can get your photos taken without getting your hair wet.

Swing

What’s more fun than a family swing at a wedding? Great to get the bridal and groom party to have some fun here and get some lovely candid photos.

Another beautiful frame for couples with some pink roses adding colour to the picture. Longford Golf Course Visible in the background, but not a distraction whatsoever.
